My name is Michaela Sallese (she/they) and I am a software developer and web designer from State College, Pennsylvania. I’m very proud of my background in customer service, and believe that I have learned many transferable skills waitressing that are very applicable to coding and designing. I am a person who can wear multiple hats, multitask effectively, and manage my tasks to a T for efficiently. Nothing makes me more satisfied than being part of a team where we all share the same goal and we are able to see that goal to completion. I enjoy doing my part to ensure my team stays optimistic and motivated, as I believe enjoying the work being done leads to better team cohesion and better results overall.

As a programmer, I have love for every step of the application process. Writing a database in SQL is extremely satisfying, writing API calls and queries is a challenging puzzle, and arranging and executing it all for the frontend ties the entire application together beautifully. As a designer, I am always struck by a bolt of inspiration for every project I start. The “ah-ha!” moment where I know what I want my product to look like and feel like that becomes my inspiration. When I get to combine programming and designing, that is truly when I am my happiest and most fulfilled.
